Rich, soften in-your-mouth chomps of singed goat cheddar, made effectively at home! Fill in as a gathering canapé, serving of mixed greens "bread garnishes", or with saltines for a comfortable night in. With nectar and cleaved chives, these poppers = flawlessness!
I have been fixated on singed goat cheddar for a considerable length of time! Whenever these small divine pieces are on a café menu, I'm requesting. One for myself, and one for you, so we can share… however I will most likely attempt to divert you while I eat them all.
After an ongoing tapas date (where I kept on chipping away at my sharing), I concluded it was at long last time to prepare some velvety, fresh goat cheddar nibbles in my own kitchen! These were VERY fast and simple to make, and the ideal sweet-salty mix with a nectar shower and sprinkle of chives. These are overly amusing to present with wafers and salami for a comfortable night in, and makes enough to take care of a gathering swarm. A glass of red wine as an afterthought doesn't hurt, either!

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 (11 oz.) log soft goat cheese
for frying:
- 2 cups oil (grapeseed, canola or veg oil)
for garnish:
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- 2 Tbsp. minced fresh chives
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine flour and black pepper. In a separate bowl, whisk egg, salt and 2 tablespoons water. In a separate bowl, add panko.
- Roll goat cheese into 24 (1-Tablespoon size) balls. Roll each ball in flour, then egg, then panko crumbs, coating evenly. Freeze 20 minutes, or until firm.
- When ready to cook, set a deep saucepan to medium-high heat. Heat oil to 350 degrees F.
- Fry goat cheese in batches, 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate.
- Arrange goat cheese poppers on a platter. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with chives. Serve immediately.
